Abstract

e disputes for various types of property coloured the socioeconomic history. ese properties included fords, places that allowed passage across the without payment. e conflict spotted in four documents attached, takes place between two neighbours, Polyxena, the widow of Marko Jakšić of Nădlac and Teodor Chwka de Papi, for the ford on Mureş river linking the settlements Felnac, owned by the Jaksic family, and Papi. How this ford conflict has evolved not only reflects some noble families attempting to access the resource but also a glimpse of the power relations built in the XVI century Transylvania.
