Abstract
At the beginning of the 19th century, the authorities in Vienna took a series of measures aimed at modernizing education in the Austrian Empire. Under the influence of the French Revolution and in the context of the Napoleonic Wars, the establishment of three teacher training institutions (preparandia) for the Orthodox population of the empire was approved. In this context, school deputations were organized with the purpose of managing the educational funds necessary to support and operate the new schools. In this article, the authors present the seal of the Deputation that administered the national preparandial school funds for Romanian Orthodox believers of the Greek non-united rite. The seal is dated 1815, which marks the year the seal was created.
