The present study synthesizes over a century of unpublished excavations at Pecica Șanțul Mare, representing
the most important archaeological investigation of medieval aged materials. The four archaeological campaigns
uncovered a large part of a cemetery and part of its settlement both dated to the Arpadian period. Excavations
conducted by H. Crișan in 1960s are described as a case study.
